POSITION PROFILE

Work with various functional groups to sustain and improve quality of products, processes, and services to our customers. Implement, as required, a combination of appraisal and prevention efforts to improve correctness and completeness of customer orders. Reduce Cost of Quality for Knoll. Maintain compliance to Quality Management System Requirements. Over time, direct efforts to achieve process stability, process capability and process efficiency, in that order.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum three years in a quality related work function

  • Seven to ten years of practical manufacturing experience

  • Demonstrated record of some project accomplishments, knowledge of quality management systems, knowledge of organized methods to make systems predictable

Required Experience

  • Implement quality control in specific areas such as Suppliers Management, Fabrication, Finishing, Assembly, New Product Introduction and other areas of supply chain as required

  • Lead and participate in problem solving efforts working with other engineers and Technicians

  • Work on Projects to improve process stability, capability and efficiency

  • Direct development of aesthetic, dimensional, and functional quality specifications for each product and manufacturing process

  • Maintain and revise existing specifications

  • Train Knoll Associates in the understanding of Knoll specifications, in the use of measuring equipment, and in the use of Quality problem solving techniques

  • Audit internal or supplier manufacturing processes to verify conformance to Knoll specifications

  • Monitor reported non-conformance and completion of required corrective action

  • Monitor and recommend improvement activities to reduce cost of poor quality (COPQ) costs

  • Review rejected materials, component parts, and finished assemblies as to their final disposition; make decision as to whether they can be used “as is”, reworked, scrapped, or sent back to the supplier for replacement

  • Adopt Lean Manufacturing Principles

  • Assists in program launches

  • Assures integrity of manufacturing processes. Assures the Integrity of manufacturing processes is maintained and improved after program launch by developing process checks/controls, and a method to trigger a response when the checks/controls indicate a deviation from established parameters.

  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives
