POSITION OVERVIEW

The VP Infrastructure is responsible for the implementation and operation of all technology infrastructure deployed at Knoll including network, server, storage, telephony and data center operations. This position is operationally responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security for all IT systems and infrastructure.

In this role the VP Infrastructure will develop and evaluate the enterprise infrastructure roadmap to optimize platforms supporting the application portfolio across the enterprise. The roadmap developed and championed by the VP Infrastructure will focus on providing customer oriented technologies solutions. This position will lead the Infrastructure teams with overall responsibility for technology infrastructure planning and deployment of technology services. This hands-on position will be required to develop and lead the engineering and support team, make technical decisions and work closely with cross functional business areas and IT groups.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Partners with CIO and other IT leaders to develop the technology infrastructure strategy and execution for the enterprise

  • Planning, project management and implementation leadership, identifying opportunities for automation, cost savings, and service quality improvement

  • Develops the engineering and technology management capabilities of the organization, managing and developing existing staff as well as recruitment

  • Provides infrastructure services vision, enables innovation and seeks to leverage IT trends that can create business value consistent with the company’s requirements and expectations

  • Development of enterprise standards and technology architecture and the IT operations governance process

  • Works closely with and manage strategic vendor partner relationships

  • Participate in the formulation of the company's enterprise architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the strategic goals of the business

  • Leads with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Hands-on technical depth enables direct oversight, problem-solving leadership and participation for complex infrastructure implementation, system upgrades and operational troubleshooting

  • Experience with high-availability architecture and multi-data center co-location operations, including storage area network and redundant, highly-available server and network architectures

Required Experience

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences, Computer Science or Engineering required or MS/ MBA in related fields

  • 12+ years’ total experience with at least five years of senior leadership responsibility, including 6+ years in a production 24/7 high-availability multi-site enterprise ERP environment, including application hosting, voice and data networks, security and information protection and 4+ years’ experience with high availability networks and replicated disaster recovery architectures

  • Experience with a broad mix of leading technologies including virtualization, cloud, mobile, VoIP, social media and more, but ideally has also driven the adoption of low cost solutions

  • Proven ability to design infrastructure capabilities roadmaps combined with a record of successfully planning and executing major initiatives

  • Exceptional communication and interaction skills that will enable the executive to work successfully to drive the adoption of standards and programs across the enterprise

  • Experience in IBM Power and x86 Virtualized server technologies

  • Working knowledge of Storage Area Network (SAN) and related technologies

  • Working knowledge of Cisco-based network communications technology

  • Cloud Infrastructure and Applications transformation experience

  • Exposure to ITIL concepts and adoption

  • Proven IT leadership and staff development skills in a regulated industry

  • Experience with ERP infrastructure implementation and support and SaaS based CRM systems

  • Comfortable managing highly-available complex infrastructure with 24/7 availability and support

  • Experience with regulatory compliance issues, as well best practices in application and network security

  • Strong Program/Project Management skills with demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-year technology initiatives
